“The other side of Seoul” di Fabio Menghinasso

“Pochi mesi fa ho avuto l’opportunità di passare un mese e mezzo a Seoul, capitale della Corea del Sud. Tutti noi abbiamo un immagine della città moderna, piena di luci, con alti grattacieli, con uomini d’affari in continuo movimento e gente ricca grazie alla loro forte economia. E’ così in parte, Seoul ha una doppia faccia, è ricca nella parte sud ma povera nella parte nord dove la maggior parte dei palazzi è fatiscente, ci sono molte persone povere che in strada mendicano per il cibo e uomini in solitudine ridotti come robots a causa del lavoro asfissiante.
Nelle mie polaroid ho voluto catturare un volto meno “turistico” della capitale coreana.”

“Few months ago I had the opportunity to spend one month in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. We all know Seoul as a vibrant city, modern, with its high skyscrapers, with business men always on the run and its strong economy, but it’s a little bit different, Seoul has a double face, it’s rich in the south part and poor in the north where you can see run down and old buildings and people in the streets begging for food. In the city you can see lonely people as lost souls, reduced as robots because of the high level of stress caused by the excessive and asphyxiating amount of working hours. In my Polaroids I wanted to capture the less “touristic” part of the Korean capital.”
