Giorgio Gerardi vive a Favaro Veneto (Venezia), ed è un appassionato d’arte. Intorno ai 20 anni, inizia la sua ricerca personale con una fotocamera. E’ solito modifica una foto più volte, fin quando non trova l’effetto di luci e forme che più si addice al suo gusto. La sua attenzione è incentrata nella visione dell’oggetto manipolato, non c’è interesse nella formula originale, per questo motivo c’è un divario tra la prima immagine scattata e il risultato finale postprodotto.
“Ogni giorno siamo circondati dalle stesse cose. Siamo abituati alla loro presenza e non le notiamo, non le vediamo più; anche se ci posiamo gli occhi sopra, non le notiamo, ed è come se non le stessimo guardando.

My name is Giorgio Gerardi and I live in Italy (Favaro Veneto, Venezia). I have always liked the history of Art and around the age of twenty I started my own personal research with the use of the camera. In this last period I have been interested in clouds, leaves and trees, earth, sand, objects and things that we have under our sight every day. I rework a single photograph several times, always in a different way, until I get the shapes and colors that I like. Since I am not very interested in the representation of the object as in reality, many times the final image is very different from the original subject. I prefer to interpret reality by manipulating the starting file.
We are daily surrounded by the same things. We are so used to their presence that we no longer notice them, we no longer see them; even if our eyes are set on them, we do not notice them and it is as if we do not see them. In the DAILY project I want to represent everyday objects, to decontextualize them, to make them assume their own identity and a new life. The series I am completing have the refrigerator, the dishwasher and the bed as their subject, and the images I propose refer to the FRIDGE series.
