“With this set I wanted to visually explore the less known part of the most photographed city in the world, the area of Piazzale Roma and its surroundings. A zone that bears no resemblance to Venice itself, characterized by multi-store parkings, industrial buildings, railroad tracks and docks. Universally considered ugly, people tend to park the car there and move on without giving it a glance. On the contrary, I think it has its own beauty and charm and is full of interesting urban locations. I enjoyed photographing them playing with the contrast between the elegantly and gorgeously dressed model and the rugged and degraded settings.”
