What Sara says about her project:
” ‘A dor da ausencia’ (galician, ‘The pain of the absence’) is a personal documentary project regarding the loss of my grandmother Ilda. I started the project with the intention of documenting the difficulties of reaching old age, but in the end, what remains is a tribute to one of the most important persons of my life, a mixture of photographs that show both her complex emotions as she lost the life that she lived until then, along with the emotions that her loss produced on myself.”
What Sara says about herself:
“I capture experiences, personalities, moments, emotions. I portray souls that inspire me, stares that fulfill me. I’m always looking for the naturalness of people, for the naturalness of the moment. Nature is my natural habitat. I find beauty where not everybody can see it. My works express both my way of seeing things and my own inner world.”
